SAN DIEGO — A San Diego-area JCPenney was burglarized early Wednesday morning, according to San Diego police.
Authorities were dispatched to the scene after burglar alarms went off around 4 a.m., SDPD said. Upon arrival, officers discovered what is believed to have been the entry point on one of the store’s doors, given broken glass and a crowbar at the scene.
Video captured of the scene shows at least one of the store’s jewelry cases was smashed in. Whether any merchandise or how much might have been taken has not been determined at this time.
An investigation into the incident remains ongoing. No suspects have been identified by authorities.
A spokesperson for the Fashion Valley Mall declined to comment on the break-in, instead deferring to SDPD.
No additional details were immediately available.
