SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The weekend has arrived and San Diegans looking for plans have a lineup of options to keep the good times rolling.
From live music to educational speakers and cultural celebrations, the calendar is filled with events taking place both Saturday and Sunday.
Here’s are six things to do in San Diego on the third weekend in February:
Held all weekend long, this event will showcase 23 different surf films. There will also be an art show with special guest Todd Francis, a “bodysurfing throwdown,” as well as live music and surfing meet-ups. Locations for this event include areas in La Jolla, Pacific Beach and Mission Bay.
San Diego Mycological Society Fungus Fair
It’s an event made for those who love all things fungi. This fair takes place at Casa del Prado in Balboa Park from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Attendees can expect food booths, vendors, and array of live speakers. There will even be live specimens and expert identifications.
Jason Mraz Foundation Presents Kaleidoscope
This community concert event, taking place Saturday and Sunday, is set to feature eight San Diego nonprofit art organizations. Some groups will even join Jason Mraz on stage to perform some of his most popular songs. This event will be held at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido.
Kitty Cafe Popup
The much sought after Hello Kitty Truck is making its return to San Diego County this weekend, with a popup scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at The Shoppes At Carlsbad until 7 p.m. Merchandise includes hoodies, lunchboxes, canvas totes and more. There will also be cookies!
Galentine’s Day Curated Marketplace
Valentine’s Day has come and gone, but an outdoor market featuring over 30 women in business is set to bring some sweetness to Liberty Station Sunday. The event will have live music, an array of different vendors, and plenty of food to choose from. The market begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m.
For those looking to celebrate the “Year of the Dragon,” head on over to Mira Mesa Park Friday, Saturday or Sunday for this free festival. It includes an extensive lineup of entertainment. There will be Asian theater, a fashion show, karaoke, and more than 45 vendors.
