BORREGO SPRINGS, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A 3.1 magnitude earthquake struck the rural East County area Tuesday, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported.
The quake occurred around 2:50 p.m. roughly 11 miles north of Borrego Springs at a depth of 7.15 miles.
The earthquake could be felt as far west as Mira Mesa and Del Mar, according to the USGS Shake Map.
There were no reports of damages or injuries as of 4:30 p.m. Tuesday related to the quake.
