SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A trash truck overturned on Interstate 5 near San Diego’s Bankers Hill neighborhood Monday morning, snarling traffic ahead of the morning commute.
The crash was reported just before 6 a.m. near Hawthorn Street on the highway’s northbound No. 1 lane, according to California Highway Patrol logs.
Details about what caused the trash truck to overturn are unclear at this time. No injuries have been reported.
A SigAlert has been issued for motorists due to the congestion around the site of the overturned truck. As of 7:30 a.m., traffic reports show the crash has slowed motorists by about 60 minutes through the area, jamming traffic all the way to Chula Vista.
