SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/ KUSI) — “Selection Sunday” for the NCAA’s 2024 March Madness fell on St. Patrick’s Day this year — possibly creating a sense of luck for players and fans.
The lineup announcement of teams making it to the much anticipated tournament began at 3 p.m. Sunday, with a total of 68 teams getting at shot at the title.
The opponent set to faceoff against San Diego State University’s Men’s Basketball team has been decided. SDSU is set to battle it out against the University of Alabama at Birmingham in their first round of play. SDSU earned a five-seed, while UAB earned a 12-seed. The game will take place Friday in Spokane, Washington.
SDSU’s women’s basketball team is still awaiting the announcement of their bracket match, which is set to begin at 5 p.m. Check back for those details.
In the meantime, fans can now begin filling in their men’s brackets.
