SAN DIEGO, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — The San Diego Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting that took place overnight in the Oak Park neighborhood.
Authorities received a call Thursday night at 10:54 p.m. reporting a car accident at 60th Street and Michael Street. Responding officers found a victim inside the vehicle with a gunshot wound.
Despite life-saving measures performed by San Diego Fire-Rescue Department personnel, the individual, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead.
No suspects were located, police said.
A neighbor reportedly told police that she heard a gunshot and when she looked out her window, she saw a car driving fast down the street.
The vehicle appeared to veer off the road and crash. According to SDPD, detectives gathered evidence from the crash site for several hours. A portion of 60th Street and Thorn Street was roped off as part of this investigation, which wrapped up around 6 a.m. Friday.
