SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The victim involved in a deadly shooting that took place in the Oak Park neighborhood last week has been identified by police.
Authorities received a call on March 28 shortly before 11 p.m. about a single vehicle accident at the intersection of 60th Street and Michael Street, the San Diego Police Department said.
Responding officers found a car along the west curb line that had crashed into a fence, along with an unresponsive man in the driver’s seat.
After removing the man from the car, they found that he was suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at a local hospital a short time later, SDPD said.
The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Andres Dominguez of Poway.
Detectives believe he was possibly involved in a verbal altercation with two other men in the surrounding area. They said he was shot prior to driving his vehicle and crashing at the location where he was found.
Authorities are currently trying to locate witnesses, surveillance video or any other physical evidence to help them solve this case. The investigation is ongoing.
